Back in September, local historian and geologist David Williams took us on a stroll around our downtown neighborhood sharing stories of the stone all around us. He pointed out the oldest stone we would likely ever touch – 3.5 billion years old – at the Exchange Building, and we donned our magnifying glasses to find fossils in the stone wall outside The Rainier Club and the new F5 tower. Afterward, we were off to Pike Place Market for lunch at Maximilien. All in all, a rockin’ way to spend a day.
